the magical couple

i am a long time fan of Sabrina the Teenage Witch! So it was only a matter of time till I drew her :)
I remember my dad took my brother and I to the store to pick a toy, I got the Sabrina Barbie doll. I wish I still had it!
Did you ever watch Sabrina? Remember her relationship with Harvey Kinkle? *sigh* I was SO happy they ended up together in the finale! Of course I had to add Salem in the drawing. who didn't love him? omg, he was the funniest character. The show is just plain good and I could watch it everyday if I had the seasons of dvd! haha. Come on Netflix! haha.

if you have any characters or couples you would like seen drawn by me, leave a comment :)
(Ned & Chuck from Pushing Daisies are next)

friday fun facts

here are some fun facts about me. happy Friday :)
(incase you wanted to know: orange cardigan/scalloped ring/bicycle tank top - all from Forever 21)

- Daria was one of my favorites to draw when i was little! I would wait for it to come on just so I can draw all the characters.

- Besides teaching myself how to draw, im a self taught painter (which is why I don't have any professional techniques haha). I loved drawing so much that I decided to try watercolor, then I wanted to explore the world of painting. I didn't start painting till I was 15 or 16 years old.

- my parents didn't really care too much about what I watched when I was little, so I got to watch Beavis and Butthead a lot :)

- my childhood crush? it wasn't Jonathan Taylor Thomas or Devon Sawa. It was Kevin Zegers & Elijah Wood (I still dig them both).

- I watched Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in theaters FIVE times. #nerdtothefullest

- The Incredibles is my favorite Pixar film. I'll always have the memory of my dad taking my brother and i to watch it in theaters and my dad had this embarrassing smoker cough and then he eventually fell asleep. haha.

- I went to the Vampire Diaries Convention in San Francisco last year. best day ever. I got to see Paul Wesley (Stefan), Ian Somerhalder (Damon) & Steven McQueen (Jeremy) on the panel. My friend and I also got a photo op with Steven! :)

Jay Leno waved at me. On my last trip to Hollywood, my friends and I decided to drive around Beverly Hills and look at all the fancy houses. When we were stopped at a stop sign, a man in an old school car was on the other side - stopped as well. My friend was driving and I was in the passengers seat. as we pass by she says "hey look its Jay Leno, wave." i thought she was joking and it was just a man that looked like him. But i waved anyway. when i was waving he gave a nod, smiled and waved back.. and our faces were in shock! we screamed! and all i was thinking at that moment was *omg, it really was him and he waved back*. haha.

- i spend a lot of time at Peets Coffee and Tea. Im there 7 days a week on my lunch break. Im obsessed with their Ice Vanilla Latte & sugar cookies.

- I loved Posh Spice. When i was younger i sent her a letter and attached a small plush toy to the envelope (i glued the tag to it). Later my mom handed me back the plush toy (it obviously wasn't aloud to travel with the letter) and i remember feeling sad that it never got sent to her. I wonder if she ever got my letter though, probably not. haha.

- i am the aunt to this adorable boy. my nephew Jonovan turns 9 today! happy birthday to him :)

Inspirations from the screen

Daisy Buchanan from the Great Gatsby.
Brad Majors and Janet Weiss from the Rocky Horror Picture Show
Mindy Lahiri from the Mindy Project.
Roger and Anita from 101 Dalmatians.

you can find all of these in my shop :)

JonFen

"Everything is Illuminated".

yeah, boyyyeee!

take car. go to mum's. kill phil. grab liz. go to the Winchester. have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
im so happy to have finally started the blood and ice cream trilogy series! I have been planning to draw these guys for a long time but never got around to it (mainly because I have trouble drawing guys). So heres where it starts, Shaun of the Dead. I actually did two drawings of this, different styles. But not sure how I felt about the first one. Anyway, thought id just stick to my original style and maybe experiment later. When I finish this series, I hope to start on a Vampire Diaries and Mindy Project series. I cant wait for the new seasons to start! Tv has been boring lately, haha.
Have a lovely Wednesday all!

for the love of ice cream

So happy to have finally worked on a drawing! Also happy that i will be adding this into my shop soon! Ill be creating more and will post them along the way! Hope you all are having a fantastic day! :)

a major sweet tooth

Finally ordered more business cards! And ive added a new one.. the donut. YAY. Im in love with the donut design and im thinking to make little prints of it. Oh, speaking of donuts.. I did some dessert sketches last week and im finally posting them:

just another *movie* monday

Before I get into the movies I saw this past weekend, lets talk about the most amazing thing that happened last night. You don't even know how long ive been waiting for this to happen and I honestly never thought it would. Nsync is my favorite boy band ever (I still listen to them) and when I heard the rumors last week about Nsync performing at the VMA's, I thought it was just too good to be true. I mean, for years ive been reading about how its just not going to happen. But people were saying that the Nsync performance was "confirmed" and even though I didn't believe it, I watched the VMA's.. waiting and waiting for it. Then it happened! And even though they performed for like 5 seconds, it was the best 5 seconds of my life. I cant even tell you how big of a fan I was (and still am)! I use to save STACKS of posters and pictures of them and even organized them to each band member and group! I even had books, video tapes and had the JC and Chris puppet doll (JC is gone :( but I still have Chris). Not to mention, I practiced their dance moves *not even ashamed*. So, im sure you could probably tell how excited I was (and still am). By the way, Justin's performance was truly amazing. Really made up for Miley's horrible and horrifying performance.
now onto the movies..
I mentioned on Friday that I was going to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. I really liked it, a lot. but then again, I might be biased since I am a Percy Jackson (and Logan Lerman) fan. haha. I also really love fantasy movies! I have never read the books but now im interested in reading them. If you have read them, just letting you know that apparently it didn't follow the book completely (I mean, when does it ever?) but when my niece & nephew & I were walking out of the theater, some guy was saying "it was so bad! it was nothing like the book". Personally, I don't really care if it follows the book or not. Its a movies and you have to expect that its never going to be exactly like it. Anyway, I loved the story and the fact that Percy has a half brother! Hes a Cyclops! If you don't know the story of the movie: pretty much Luke is back and still in revenge to destroy Mount Olympus. He poisoned a magical tree and from there Percy, Annabeth, Tyson and Grover go on a search for the Golden Fleece (which has the ability to restore). On the way they deal with a bunch of monsters. Pretty entertaining stuff! So if youre looking for something fantasy, adventure with some comedy.. go watch it!
This might be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Again, I may be biased. haha. My best friend and I are HUGE fans of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost! Theyre like us.. but men and british. haha. Though we always talk british in normal conversations. Anyway.. The Worlds End completes the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy or also known as: Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy! My best friend and I can quote both Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz! My best friend was ranking all three: Hot Fuzz, The Worlds End, then Shaun of the Dead! Mine would the same but flip Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead around. haha. The Worlds End was amazingly hilarious! From beginning to end! I don't want to say much and give anything away.. but just know that its just plain hilarious with fight scenes, beer and blue blood! the story: follows a group of friends who goes back to their old town to finish their quest of going to every pub! During their time there they discover a an alien invasion. Im really wanting to watch this again and I hope I go soon! haha. If youre looking for something just plain random and hilarious.. you gotta watch The Worlds End. Also, if you read my Star Trek post you already know my confession to being a huge Simon Pegg fan. I also adore him and think he is the cutest thing alive. Even when he looks like a slob in the movie. haha. I was still swooning! ;)
I just love them!

its friday

happy friday pretty people. I have actually been sketching the past couple days but haven't had a chance to snap shots of them or scan them (for better viewing). Sorry about that :) Its been a pretty busy week. hm, well kinda. for three days I had a stomach flu and then I went out to dinner at a pho joint with some lovely friends last night. Currently, I am super exhausted. It took me forever to fall asleep last night! and now im here.. at work.. finally drinking an iced coffee. But its Friday.. is it weird that I want to do something tonight even though im tired? haha. Im taking my niece and nephew to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Im incredibly excited! since.. I am a huge fan of the first Percy Jackson movie AND Logan Lerman (*swoon*). I even thought of having a Percy Jackson themed party at one point, itll happen someday. haha. Ill be sure to let you all know my rating for it. Along with two others that I didn't get to post.
oh, by the way.. im in love with my new blue and white polka dot sweater that I got a h&m. so comfy! its still a wee bit warm to wear it BUT Fall is right around the corner and im so excited :)
I hope you all are having a good day so far.. and I hope you have a tremendous weekend!

Survey says

So Indiejane had posted a myspace survey today and it got me thinking.. wow, I cant believe how many of those I did. haha. Honestly, I really liked them and I haven't done it in forever! So..... why not do one!? Here it goes:

three items you will always find in my bag:
chapstick, lotion and my phone.
my favorite guilty-pleasure is:
chicken fried steak and gravy with mashed taters.
if i could have lunch with anyone, who would it be?
That's so hard. My first thought was Tim Burton, then Chris Evans, then Walt Disney. BUT I think I would have a blast with Mindy Kaling :)
my favorite song lyric is:
Theres so much going on
Sometimes I can't find my way
And often times I struggle
Struggle from day to day
I have to realize that it's not my battle
It's not my battle to fight
I have to know if I put it in His hands
That everything will be alright
the piece of clothing in my closet that i have had forever is:
I would have to say, my jean jacket that I would wear all the time in high school. cant believe I still have it and it doesn't even fit me anymore :(
my favorite children’s book is:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (+ LOVE the illustration in that book) and there was this book I would ALWAYS pick up but cant remember the name of it; the illustration looked a bit vintagy and there were animals dressed in suits and dresses. If someone knows that im talking about and knows the name.. please tell me :)
i am currently reading:
Crazy Love by Francis Chan
my favorite place to be is:
Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. but mostly my room, haha.
one thing on my bucket list i haven’t done is:
Zip lining. I don't want to bungee jump or skydive but ill do zip lining. OH and swim with dolphins :)
my bringing-down-the-house karaoke go-to song is:
unfortunately, I don't do karaoke. haha. yep, im one of them shy people. But if I were to pick a song it would be any Nsync song. haha.
i am afraid of:
insects and bug bugs. even butterflies!
YOUR TURN :)
I would like to read yours, so leave me a comment if you do one!

Guillon

I was hoping to get some little paintings done last night but my flu wasn't letting me do anything but lay in bed. *sad faced*. Uh well, im feeling... some-what better. Anyways, lets talk about something delicious! Besides donuts, my friends know me as a huge macaron lover. I will try them at any place that sells them. So a couple weeks ago I tried some at a place called Chantal Guillon - Macarons + Teas, in Palo Alto (University Ave.). *SIDE NOTE: Palo Alto = land of the Francos!*. OMG. I think theyre the best I have ever tasted (so far). The flavors I got (left to right) were: dark chocolate, persian rose, tahitian vanilla, almond amaretto, coffee and italian pistachio. yup, I finished them allllll byyy myyyyself. haha. All of them were amazingly delicious but there was something about the tahitian vanilla that stood out the most. You want to know what the best part about Chantal Guillon? My friend literally lives next door to it. NO JOKE. haha. I cant wait for my next visit to his apartment haha or maybe I can just call him up and asked him to bring me some tonight? I don't know, maybe! haha. I mean I could probably go to Palo Alto whenever I want (its about 20mins away) buuuuuut I hate traffic! :(
What are your favorite Macaron places? and whats you favorite flavor?

my late night therapy

why did it feel like yesterday was the slowest day ever? I don't know what it was about yesterday but it wasn't the best. haha. After work, I kinda just sat on my bed most of the time, pigged out and watched Full House. At around 12am I finally decided to get off my bed and do something.. CREATIVE! So I went to my desk and painted a little ice cream cone. I will be putting this in my shop later today if anyone wants it! :) (oh and i forgot to add other prints into the shop as well, so those will be there by tonight). After painting I felt like I actually did something with my life. haha. But I guess its nice once and a while to just relax, its just that sometimes my mind wanders into the realms that I swear to never think about and then I feel sad. is that just me? =/ haha. So its better for me to keep busy! Read the bible, read Crazy Love, Paint, Draw.. you know, the good stuff!
I trust you all had a splendid weekend? mine was rather busy/relaxing/hot! Saturday was my sisters
birthday. We went to Broadway Prime in Burlingame and I bought her burnt almond cupcakes from Peters Bakery. Pretty much the best cake you will ever have in your entire life. seriously. Take a trip to San Jose, ca. You wont be disappointed! haha. After my sisters dinner, I had a lazy Saturday night at home. Sunday was a bbq at my best friends house, which was pretty relaxing while we watched Fast5. oh yeah, I gotta mention how extremely HOT it was yesterday. ugh, I hate the heat. I cant wait for Fall!!!
Oh, by the way! ive added a few things to the Pretty Clementine shop. Ive added my sketch of Pinocchio and Alice as well. Spock and Snow will be added tonight. PLUS a ton more :) yay!

love & cabbage

oh to be in love. maybe someday ill find that man that makes my heart fly to him. for now, im happy being on my own and focusing on God & art. Still, I cant help but admire that quote. I love Shakespeare. call me a fan. I just love how deep his words are.

side note:
have you ever tried Cabbage Steaks? omg, please try them. Jenny from Everyday is a Holiday had posted the recipe to them. I was so intrigued that I had to make them myself. the results? AMAZING. Im wanting to make this again! It was my dinner last night & it was completely filling :)

my target wish list

There has been some things at Target that I have been wanting for a while now. For some odd reason I always leave with anything but the things I REALLY want. haha. So I decided to share them. I cant even tell you how many times Ive grabbed a few of these and then just put them back. Especially the heart sweater! ugh. I still want it! I finally tried on the Womens Cap Sleeve dress today and I fell madly in love. I actually might be getting that soon if I find my size at another target. I saw the boots today and almost thought about buying them but then realized that its still hot outside. Im a sucker for boots.. id wear them everyday if I could.
