just another *movie* monday

Before I get into the movies I saw this past weekend, lets talk about the most amazing thing that happened last night. You don't even know how long ive been waiting for this to happen and I honestly never thought it would. Nsync is my favorite boy band ever (I still listen to them) and when I heard the rumors last week about Nsync performing at the VMA's, I thought it was just too good to be true. I mean, for years ive been reading about how its just not going to happen. But people were saying that the Nsync performance was "confirmed" and even though I didn't believe it, I watched the VMA's.. waiting and waiting for it. Then it happened! And even though they performed for like 5 seconds, it was the best 5 seconds of my life. I cant even tell you how big of a fan I was (and still am)! I use to save STACKS of posters and pictures of them and even organized them to each band member and group! I even had books, video tapes and had the JC and Chris puppet doll (JC is gone :( but I still have Chris). Not to mention, I practiced their dance moves *not even ashamed*. So, im sure you could probably tell how excited I was (and still am). By the way, Justin's performance was truly amazing. Really made up for Miley's horrible and horrifying performance.
now onto the movies..
I mentioned on Friday that I was going to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. I really liked it, a lot. but then again, I might be biased since I am a Percy Jackson (and Logan Lerman) fan. haha. I also really love fantasy movies! I have never read the books but now im interested in reading them. If you have read them, just letting you know that apparently it didn't follow the book completely (I mean, when does it ever?) but when my niece & nephew & I were walking out of the theater, some guy was saying "it was so bad! it was nothing like the book". Personally, I don't really care if it follows the book or not. Its a movies and you have to expect that its never going to be exactly like it. Anyway, I loved the story and the fact that Percy has a half brother! Hes a Cyclops! If you don't know the story of the movie: pretty much Luke is back and still in revenge to destroy Mount Olympus. He poisoned a magical tree and from there Percy, Annabeth, Tyson and Grover go on a search for the Golden Fleece (which has the ability to restore). On the way they deal with a bunch of monsters. Pretty entertaining stuff! So if youre looking for something fantasy, adventure with some comedy.. go watch it!
This might be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Again, I may be biased. haha. My best friend and I are HUGE fans of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost! Theyre like us.. but men and british. haha. Though we always talk british in normal conversations. Anyway.. The Worlds End completes the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy or also known as: Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy! My best friend and I can quote both Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz! My best friend was ranking all three: Hot Fuzz, The Worlds End, then Shaun of the Dead! Mine would the same but flip Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead around. haha. The Worlds End was amazingly hilarious! From beginning to end! I don't want to say much and give anything away.. but just know that its just plain hilarious with fight scenes, beer and blue blood! the story: follows a group of friends who goes back to their old town to finish their quest of going to every pub! During their time there they discover a an alien invasion. Im really wanting to watch this again and I hope I go soon! haha. If youre looking for something just plain random and hilarious.. you gotta watch The Worlds End. Also, if you read my Star Trek post you already know my confession to being a huge Simon Pegg fan. I also adore him and think he is the cutest thing alive. Even when he looks like a slob in the movie. haha. I was still swooning! ;)
I just love them!
