Tea Party Wonderland: Finale Part 1

So, i have been working on my nieces birthday for like a week and Saturday was the big ol day! Some of my decor didnt go as planned because well.. i didnt realize how exhausted i was going to be AND i cant even tell you how hot it was Saturday. oh, my, goodness. Decorating outside was such a pain, i could only last about 5 minutes before i started to sweat like crazy. haha. I did what i could and im pretty satisfied but most importantly, my niece had a great time! :)

displays: these were printed on construction paper then glued on cardboard for support. It was kind of tough time trying to find good quality pictures of the characters, so i searched Alice in Wonderland coloring pages or printables and found just plain black and white pictures. I saved them, then vectored them on Illustrater and then colored them myself. Not sure if there is a much simpler way, but that was simple enough for me and the quality came out perfect!
Alice in Wonderland props: made from construction paper.
I found all of the tea cups at Good Will! $0.99/each!

I also used those vectored Alice characters and made them into stickers. Plus, a little tea pot with my nieces name.

The backdrop for the photobooth, which i didnt get much time to work on :(
favors: cut and hot glued an adorable fabric to make into little baggys then filled with gumballs and gummy bears.
Simple Strawberries and Cream cake i made for my neice.
it was a super long week and day but overall it was a lot of fun and im glad my niece had a great time :)

Tea Party Wonderland: Decor 3

Today was a very good thrifting day! I found these lovely tea plates which are gonna be used for displaying food, a candle holder of some sort which will be used as a "cake" stand, AND i was lucky enough to find this cute little bunny laying around! I cant wait to put everything together.
Peachy-pink fabric (from Walmart) will be used as a backdrop for a photobooth.
Blue fabric (from Walmart) will be used for the main table. Thinking of purchasing a long table cloth and putting this fabric on top.
This floral fabric (from Walmart) will be used for favors!

Tea Party Wonderland: Decor 2

Here is what ive done since my last post! Im also thinking of adding a hint of gold & silver glitter to some of the tea pots, tea cups, etc. for a little pop! I was pretty excited to find some fake flowers for sale at Michaels.. i keep wanting to draw faces them! haha. I cant believe the party is so near, i got a ton of things to do! :) Tonight i will get started on Alice in Wonderland props and displays! Will post some tomorrow.

Stay tuned..

Tea Party Wonderland

i was recently asked by my sister to help out with my nieces 13th birthday party (the 8th of June). she wants to throw her an Alice in Wonderland / tea party birthday that isnt going to cost a lot. I told her, with my help, its possible! :) One thing i love to do are DIY's and if you didnt know this about me, i love throwing/decorating parties with themes. I have already a bunch of ideas in mind (thanks to Pinterest as well) and will show you all the process when i start but for now lets start with the invite.
All i could see in my head is the dainty tea party with a hint of Alice in Wonderland, so i came up with and designed this invite above. My sister loved it. and guess what? it doesnt cost much at all. I think the only thing purchased for this is the paper, which wont be too much.
Im super excited about this party! Stay tuned for more.
